The actor, singer, Poet, facilitator and Theatre Maker creating at local venues, around the UK and beyond

I’m Rebecca – I’m an actor, singer and a poet. I’ve been performing since I was about 14 years old.

When I think of the journey we’ve been on since I founded Blue Balloon, it’s been really interesting. I think we’ve taken turns down certain avenues, and we’ve done things that I didn’t necessarily expect.

Poetry has become a huge part of what we do, and I remember we delivered an outdoor workshop by the lakeside in Boggart Hole Clough and it was probably one my favourite jobs that I’ve done.

Tell us a bit about your connection to North Manchester

I was brought up here and moved back here after graduating from Drama School, so have spent most of my life living in North Manchester.

It’s shaped me, how I tackle life and it’s challenges and the people here have helped me appreciate the wonderful connections we can make and share with others.

What makes you proud of your local area or community?

The people, no question. The people of North Manchester make the community what it is, and you’ll never see people rally around with support and kindness the way they do here.
